That didn't go so well for Marianne... well, she did give it her all in the road race, which was the main target Awesome riding by the Russian girl again, she looked very smooth and strong!

What about the Chinese not content with cheating to win, now they have to cheat to lose. Taking the piss, those pair are going to be f*cked when they get home. Huge loss of face for china, although it's the coaches who should be shot.

On another topic: archery. What a load of shite. I read today that it was only introduced at the seoul games and surprise surprise korea are winning all the medals. File it with horse riding for me.

This has happened many times before I remember in particular a German game in the World Cup played out to a bore draw. Even in the premiership teams have been accused of not talking games seriously because of a more important game coming up. Never mind the second string teams in the League cup.

I agree with the punishment but it is far from a unique event.

I also agree why are horses in the Olympics?

Personally I'd have thought Archery & horsemanship are 2 of the oldest & most traditional Sports to be honest .... I can't say I've ever really watched either & I'm probably basing my opinion on Errol Flynn's Robin Hood, but I'd rather watch Archery & Showjumping than bloody table tennis:w00t:

I do understand that the ability of the rider is very important. Having said that the best rider cannot win without a very good horse and I would have though the Olympics is about human achievement not a donkeys.

p.s. Why is the plural of donkey "ys" as opposed to "ies" like all the other words ending in "y"? English is a very strange language.

If you are talking about achievement and who's achievement it is, it is donkey's not donkeys although I understand that the animal was a horse anyway.
