Typical precautionary beaurocracy. The article says.. The E.Coli is from animal dropping ( who put them in the park..the council) It is likely mainly to affect young children ( lots of them on the road relays or do they think road runners suck their fingers a lot ...hang on maybe ). They also say "we cannot ban children from using the park". NO but you can stop an annual nationally important event from taking place...JUST BECAUSE WE CAN..

It never ceases to amaze me the official mind. Whats wrong with just warning people not to eat cowshit?

Final details have just been put up on the web site at http://www.merciarelays.org.uk/raceinfo.html and includes a note about camping. The visitor info page http://www.merciarelays.org.uk/visitorinfo.html also lists various types of accommodation (and other sevices) including hostel and camping pods.

Or is it a find your own accomodation arrangement?

Visited the event field today to supervise some grass cutting. The slope to/from the change-over is very greasy. We don't have a vast field like last year at Kettlewell so be prepared to make the best of things. But we are close to Town and its creature comforts.

Sale Harriers are ready, however we're not looking forward to the 6.45am start for most of us.

Hopefully the low cloud will stay away too.
