    Re: Today's Training

great run in total peace today.

Yes it was my Birthday and like most feeling a little down after the weekend so needed to get out there.

Glorious weather took me high and I set off to do a steady run. Don't know why but I just kept going and going. i've not run so far for so long. Visited all my old haunts. Up cutgate-Outer edge-swains head- Barrow-Grinha-Upper Derwent-Lord howard Springs back to Outer edge- Mickledon Pond- Hingcliffe common and back to Langsett.

On route I took in 3 tea plants, 2 wrecks, V1 bomb crater, Source of the Derwent sign, A few obscure rocks, a whiskey stache, 3 geocaches. didn't sign in at the whiskey or the geocaches.

Only saw one walker about 300m from the end of the run.

Just under 20 miles 3,500ft. Good to be out there with my thoughts alone or otherwise....

    Re: Today's Training

first fell run in a month, 3 small miles and 1000ft of climb, straight up without stopping, quite pleased with myself, i stopped when i reached the top took my hat off and listened to the wind, silence and calm very tranquill last night on pendle, ribs no longer hurt just hoping now i can continue through the winter and build on from yesterday's little run..

you never realise you miss something untill you stop doing it, i can always find stuff to do when i am injured but i enjoy my fell running i miss it when i can't do it..

I think there'll be a lot of quiet solitary runs to favourite old haunts happening over the next few days and weeks. Possibly tonight for me later on Ilkley Moor

Sounds very nice Ian, I wish I had the terrain and fitness to do something similar.

Quick 5 miles over the Scars after night shift. Felt much better after running in the sunshine.

You lucky spud. I couldn't get the day off and used up a favour to get Sunday off for the relays. Is that all the Lakeland classics for you this year?

Club run for me tonight. Potter Fell and Brunt Knott from Staveley. Met a very angry farmer whose greeting was 'F@#* off!' I had heard lots of tales about such farmers but somehow only encountered friendly ones. Until tonight. At least he didn't have a gun.

Hi, yes I do feel lucky I'll have done four of the classics (all being well at Langdale). Have never experienced Borrowdale or Duddon. Treats for other years maybe!

Bad luck with the run in with the farmer. Not a fell running fan then..
