No wonder you motivated to train so hard, and on a treadmill
Quality place.. every murder gets a new cross on the lawn outside the city hall... quite a stark illustration watching them spread.. 1 in 1000 murder rate... mainly drugs related but young kid blinded in cross fire only recently.. plus a fair few parents killing kids whilst hallucinating due to drugs.. quite horrific.

Will do Ian, beautiful area to run. I dont get up there as much as I would like to. My friend has shown me a wonderful route thats just stunning, Foulstone moor to ladybower and back, nice loop. Theres a wee valley that just amazes me everytime.
I'm a bit of a headtorch beginner meself, only had one a few months. Alpkit to start me off, fab bit of kit does the job!

The valley will be Abbey Brook. stunning valley, spoilt 2 years ago when they bulldozed a track up it.

Good race tonight wet and wild, quite a turn given the conditions.

well done to Shelf who thrashed me once again...

Planning a 10 mile run tomorrow. Current plan is out near Quermore unless anyone can recommend a good run near Morecambe.

    Re: Today's Training

Friday, did a 12 mile trail run with my mate.

Sunday, 2 hours on forest tracks, last few miles with head torch.

Today to the hill, and my first run in the snow this winter, about three quarters the way up Hartfell I hit snow, there was a strong northerly wind and then low cloud, I love the rhythmic crunch crunch as I climb in the snow. There was ice on the wire fence and not another foot print in the mud or snow from top to bottom, at the trig’ point I wee my name in the snow, still a little boy in there some where.

Coming backdown with the wind on my back and descending when I hit the grass it was almost as if I was floating over the top of the ground. Great feeling.

It was Abbey Brook. Real nice when the heather is purple!
