As ever looking forward to this one, i not sure you ever run absolutely pain free in fell running:closed:.

Its forecast another mild day, so turnout could be large again.

Aye Stolly, I almost mentioned the beard when we were chatting, just in case you hadn't noticed it ;-)

Results are here and they misread my daughter Kelly's number and gave her position to an interloper. Kelly ran brilliantly and came in 136th with race number 1939 but unfortunately they took her number down as 1999 and Jen Milsom came 136th instead. Never mind, its character building

There were a few difficulties in some of the results, i'll pass on, an amended result sheet will come out in the nearish future.

    Cracking event though.

I know its a few weeks away, but is anyone doing it this year? I was meant to do it last year, but sherrys took over. Instead I had to watch my friend set off and return very muddy, whilst drinking coffee and eating a bacon sandwich. I will not be making the same mistake this year! Am I right in thinking that gate near the end only gets opened that 1 day a year?

Yes the gate is normally closed, but if you are wanting to do a recce there is a small kissing gate on the footpath about 100 meters down the road.

I hope to be there on the day

I'm from GA so know the route pretty well, though I prefer to run round roseberry and across to captain cook across the moors than through the farm. Should be good though!

There are plenty of fell race routes that do take in Roseberry, Captain Cook's Monument and other parts of the North Yorkshire Moors, check out the Esk Valley Fell Club Website.

The Captain Cook's race is a multi-terrain race really, good enjoyable diversion for New Years Day and great to have a chat in the pub after, you didn't have too bad a deal last year Daleyboy1234 in terms of Bacon Sandwiches and Coffee, i recall it was freezing on the tops with the icy drizzle, though i always enjoy the race.
