You need to watch the rest of the trilogy now: Sympathy for Mr Vengeance and Lady Vengeance

Ted last night, much better than I expected, the aerial scene made me 'snort' with laughter, The Wicker Tree tonight, Robin Hardy's loose sequel to The Wicker Man, I have a feeling I may be disappointed but we'll give it a go.

Just seen The Hobbit and really enjoyed it. They've not rushed through the story in the way they did with LOTR.

Did it you see it in 3D HFR or 2D NFR or any combination of the two ? I have seen some comment from film critics that recommend 2D and "normal" frame rate but I wondered what other people thought who had seen it?

We saw it "normal", pretty close to a big screen. I suspect the close-up action scenes would have looked quite different in HFR - of course I was aware of HFR at the time I was watching it, so I noticed the flicker more than I normally would. We played it safe, although I don't think we had HFR as an option where we went anyway. My eyes & the eyes of one of the Splatchettes are dodgy enough already without bending them to the demands of 3D. In theory, close-up to a big screen should be where HFR gives a big advantage - maybe we'll go HFR for part 2.

I saw it in 2D as I'm not keen on the 3D experience - feels like eye strain. The story is good enough to not need to rely on gimmick effects. No doubt the kids will want to watch it 3D; so I'll be able to compare then.

Tinker Taylor, and the U.S Girl with the dragon tattoo. Enjoyed both, really surprised the remake of girl was as good as it is.
