On our wedding day we did a fell race. I got to the room to get ready and my daughter went berserk!!! I had two hours to get ready for goodness sake!! I mean, come on how long does it take to do hair, make-up and put a nice frock on? She was really mad lol

As for running on Christmas day - I hope to do a quick jog out. Certainly running on Christmas eve, new year eve and new year day though.

Al be running at some point. Something about xmas day being so quiet everywhere. It just feels more isolated. One of the reasons i like to run the hills is for peace and quiet from the drone of town. Xmas day seems to add to that sensation for me.

I'll be going for a run. I'd like to go somewhere special but any decent length run will do. At one point it looked like I'd be left high and dry for Christmas day so I'd planned an epic run to keep me occupied, I was even considering driving up to Scotland and camping so I could get some coast and mountains. As it is, I'll be sharing my Christmas and we are both going for a run.

Absolutely! I love that peace that reigns on Christmas day. I've always had a Christmas walk regardless of situation but since I became a runner, a run is the best thing for me.

Definitely plan something but usually between 20 mins and an hour. As no race for me on Boxing Day this year will probably do more rather than less.

    Re: Christmas day running

Usually get one in on Christmas Day evening, once it's dark and everyone's in front of the box. You feel as if you're the last man on earth. I think that it was 2004 when it put down a big dump on Christmas Day afternoon. I drove the m-i-l round to the s-i-l's for teatime. Then drove to Fell End near Scorton. It was a full moon and mine were the only footprints in 4 inches of virgin snow, all the way to the trig on Nicky Nook Fell. No headtorch needed!
