Hello Everyone,
I'm pleased everyone had a good day out, The feedback has been great and everyone returned safely.
In the true spirit of fell running please can we now drop any discussion regarding photographs. Having communicated with both of the original parties involved, I feel there has been mis-understanding on many sides and it's time to move on.
Many thanks,
Joe Faulkner
TdeH Event Organiser and fell runner
Just wanted to say thanks to all the organisers and marshalls for a great race and to Joe for his help when me and my running friends missed one another at the start. Had a great day out and teamed up with Helen Leigh who was great company all the way round. Had a blip going over sticks pass for some reason but felt ok after that. Will have to improve my navigating skills for next year as I found the section on the return from Martindale difficult and somehow strayed off the path. Probably just to tired!!
I don't suppose the guy who fell on his way down from Grisedale Tarn to Patterdale posts on here? He took a nasty blow to his mouth and just wanted to check he's ok? He ran to the Patterdale checkpoint with us and left at the same time, but I didn't see him again.
Great event, thanks Joe and the team.
I would also like to thank the organisers for putting this fine event on, thoroughly enjoyed. Ran round with my wife Helen, it was her first event over 26.2 miles and she really enjoyed herself despite a few wobbles towards the end. She'd like to pass on her thanks for all the care lavished on her at the end by the team at the Village Hall, it was kind of you and she's totally recovered. The cake helped a lot.
Of course, I'm in the dog house for not being sympathetic enough on the section back from Martindale .....![]()
This was my first stab at proper fell running, and a fantastic experience. I would like to thank JoeF for organising and Martyn and Helen Price for the company, help with navigation and advice around a fair bit of the course. Also thanks to the photographers who took photos up high and the Sports Sunday photographer who pointed me in the right direction. Helen you ran fantastically, I think I was more tired than you at the end but you showed real guts for the last 8 miles and Martyn I have just ordered Feet in the Clouds on your recommendation.
I ran the entire length of the forest track, I had completely forgotten there was a footpath. I am no stranger to tough trail marathons in southern England, but this was a step up both in terms of the level of fitness shown by the other competitors and sheer grunt required. It was a pleasure to get out on the fells with such great company and I will be back next year for sure.
hello Hopey
First of all the fellow who took a tumble was as you say ok at Patterdale. I checked his face and ribs and any other damage and he confirmed that he felt fine and carried on.
Second good to hear from a Lostock member. I used to run with them 10 years ago. Speak to John Smith etc.
Glad you had a good event and hope(y) to catch up with again in 2013.
Cheers
