This is a perfect race in that its over the xmas period so I'm home, the roseberry topping one was midweek so couldn't and my friend forgot her fell gear for the three tops. I walked up through the cut to cheer my friend on last year and remember it was extremely bitter. It was fun cheering people on though and I got a Suggitts after!
Can't wait for this one. Missed it this year due to injury, in fact only managed two races all year. Will arrive at the start line with a smile on my face that I will hopefully carry into lots of races in 2013. A great little race with a lovely social atmosphere. :thumbup:

What are shoe recommendations? Fair bit of road/trail, so trail shoes? Or mudfest, so fell?

Its was a terrific morning in Great Ayton, 250+ in the senior race and nigh on 20 juniors, plenty of support around the course and great to see faces old and new.

For the record. Jim Bulman (New Marske Harriers), made it a festive double after his win at Guisborough, Paul Lowe (NYMAC) second from Cameron Taylor (Esk Valley), Paul Butler (Loftus and Whitby) and Ian McGrath (Durham FR).
Cath Williamson (Loftus and Whitby) was first in the ladies race.

Great start to the new year, and some SUN for a change.
The icy roads were probably the trickiest bit; I loved the fast descent off the top, then left down the track, really let myself go.
Any idea when full results are likely to be out?
