Hang on Amex I think working out your race points might be the clinching factor. Last year's formula was:

Look up race winners time
Look up your time
Deduct winner's time from your time
Work out the percentage of the winner's time that equates to the difference in times
Deduct that from 100%
That percentage is your points

For example winners time = 45 minutes, your time = 60 minutes. Difference = 15 minutes. 15 as a percentage of 45 = 33.33%. 100% - 33.33% = 66.67%. Points = 67. Tougher than the race itself
