Thought Kompany's red was a tad harsh.. but it was silly, it was studs up, off the ground into the man and they are often reds.. at 2-0 against 10 men there was no need for it.. can't see it getting over turned.. It wasn't really two footed but I can see why the ref sent him off.. and it did look like it could have been two footed until you watch the replay.

Looking at the games now I think you have an easier run for a few weeks.. 7's nothing as you say. A long way to go yet.
Indeed - it was 8 points with 6 to go last season, it's now 7 with half the season to go more or less

That was the last City team, before today, to win away at Arsenal.

That must have been one of the longest bogeys in the history of English football.

I must admit biara, I didn't think it would be today, with both Kun and YaYa out.
Tony Book/ Glyn Pardoe not playing that day ?

No, I think they'd retired by then as I think had Mike Summerbee and Francis Lee. I was shocked to see Colin 'The king' Bell still playing to be honest.

    Adkins sacked..

    Disgusting!

Hope they go down now.. he's taken them up 2 divisions.. and was clear of the drop zone and on an excellent run of form..

I agree - very strange. There seems to be the agreement among chairmen that you need a hard-working British manager to get you into the Premier league, and then a foreign manager to progress once you're there.

I suspect he'll get a job with a big club, having shown his quality. He can then look forward to motivating his players to beating Southampton twice a year - that seems to be what normally happens.

Agreed. 2 defeats in the last 12 legue matches and they sack the bloke that got them up there. Crazy.

I bet if you remove the first 10 game of the season, when they had a hard run of fixtures and took time getting up to speed, they'd sit mid table.. strange.. wonder how the players will react..

Replaced by a man sacked by Espanyol when they were bottom of the league in Spain. Makes great sense that.

Almost as shocking as the sacking 2 days ago of the legendary Sir James Gannon at Stockport.

Agreed, it is totally astonishing. Would anybody at the start of the season expect Southampton to be doing better than they are. What did they expect, Champions League qualification?

Matt Le Tissier's view on Nicola Cortese "I suppose the only real story will probably come out when he leaves the football club. He is not a very nice human being. It's as simple as that."
