Well that was hard work! Ended up doing just over 15miles of the route and left totally spent when I'd finished. Hope it's not like that on Feb 2nd but glad I got a taste of it just incase. The boggy section on Burley Moor was particularly arduous as every step bit into the virgin snow then briefly held firm for a nanosecond before crunching through the semi-frozen bog skin. Was also continuously paranoid about coming a cropper on any hidden rocks etc. Besides all that it was really beautiful up there and with the exception of a couple walking their dog on the aforementioned Burley Moor I saw not a soul until hitting Menston. Anyone else given it a whirl up there today?
