Just read a blog relating to the durability of these shoes...it was far from glowing!

Cheap indeed, but quality lacking it would seem.

For what it's worth, my Cheviot 1s are still going strong after 40-odd runs and I've just ordered a pair of Cheviot 2s..

Yes, it would be unwise to judge the durability of the shoe from one mishap anyway!

Bought some Mk1's recently and probably covered about 100 miles in them so far - have to say for the money I'm hugely impressed. I'm a bloke but usually buy the womens shoe for the narrower fit. Bought the blokes shoe here though and slightly wide in the heel. Not the most comfortable fit really, but cannot fault the shoe overall. Over Sugarloaf last night in the icy snowline grip was a bit sketchy on the way up, didn't feel like I could fully commit, but on the way down it was stunning. For a training fell shoe I think they're great.
Like the look of the Mk2, but frankly, might be tempted to stick with Mk1 unless someone indicates they're much more comfortable?

Mk2s look good and seem to grip on most surfaces except quite steeply sloping compacted farm-yard snow :w00t:

Bought some of the red ones for £30 and tried them out on Pendle last Tuesday night in the deep snow. Very comfortable indeed with a slightly narrower fit than the yellow or blue ones. Fantastic grip and for the price they are very good value. Size wise I had to go up half a size compared to my inov8 333's. Not sure how they would fair in deep heather as the material on the sides might take a bit of a battering. Overall though great value and worth a try.
