Hi Daz. Can you check I'm calculating this right? My only January event is the Hebden. Winner 3:06, me 4:40. I make that a score of 51.

Splatcher - I think your score works out as 49, not 51
my Hebden time of 4:57 works out as 40 pts, so a slight improvement for me
Mrs Stagger clocked 4:31 = 54pts
BritNick 4:43 = 53 pts (no improvement)

Where am I going wrong then Daz? I used the calculation I found in an early post you made to this thread:

Points Calculation Examples:
converting to seconds is a good first step
then:
Stolly: 2423 secs, compared to 1951 secs
2423-1951 = 472 seconds slower than winner
472/1951 = 24.2% slower than winner
Points = 75.8 = 76 (rounding to nearest, .5 rounds up)
and:
Stagger: 1534 secs, compared to 1038 secs
1534-1038 = 496 seconds slower than winner
496/1038 = 47.8% slower than winner
Points = 52.2 = 52

My time was 4:40, or 280 mins
Winner was 3:06, or 186 mins
280-186=94
94/186=0.5053... or 51 rounded.

Am I using an out-of-date algorithm, or have I no idea what I'm doing (as usual)?

That means you were 51% slower than the winner, so you get 100-51 points, so 49. otherwise you'd get more for going slower!

i.e. you missed the last step (not obvious in the example): take the result you arrived at (51) and subtract it from 100.
