Agree with all what Pragmatic says, although apparently 2 or 3 years ago when the clag was down people were all over the place dropping down to Pipers Gate cp from Buckstones so hope for a good visibility day. No doubt you will also be aware that the dreaded flagstones now go all the way from Lanshaw Lad to the masts at Whetstone Gate.

A further tip is to hold a little back on the downhill West Chevin Road section before the toughest part of the whole route - the climb to top of Chevin.

I'm also short of long runs...longest since August has only been 13 miles but still hope to get round in close to 4 hours.
