1 1/4hr on the local, still to much snow for running but melting fast.

Passed a dead sheep which looked as though it had succumbed to the cold then became buried by deep snow. The post holing became even more unwanted after seeing the insides of that poor sheep. Looked like it had been eaten from the inside out and the meltwater pooled inside it for added grim factor.

A few summers ago I found a sheep alive with a dead heavily pecked lamb hanging out of it.. so pulled the lamb out.. and it must have been in there for a while.. I was wretching for a good while..

Steady 4.5 miler this morning, rep session tonight, should make it 415 miles for January.. nice start to the year.

1st day of the month usual route off-road 1 mile time trial. Took 40 secs off last month time so the training is working. I wasn't puffing as much this time either

Thought I may as well use the no job thing and just pile in the miles.. reckon I'll drop to 60-70 max for the summer, maybe another block of high miles in September before a fall marathon..

As I have the 100k in 2 months high miles now is needed. A team mate knocks out 500 a month, well over 400 for Feb... doubt I'll manage that, its 100 per week.. tend to average 90 ish..

But also depends how the 100k goes as if it goes well I could have more later in the year..

A little 5 miler on the road to test out my "Hebden Knee" before the Mickleden Straddle tomorrow. The plan was to test it out last weekend but I went down with a cold so I've just got round to it A cold but very sunny day out there plus the knee felt ok

Led a group of 20 runners for Accelerate on a 11 mile 2000ft head torch last night over Howden.
Saw a group of runners setting off on a home reccie.

    Snowing briefly...just over 2 hours.
