How does this compare to the Hebden? I'm expecting it to be tougher - boggier, tussokier etc.

Here's a couple of maps of the start and finish. They used to be on the CVFR website but can't see them now.

The finish map shows the route from when you leave the moorland to cross the road, having descended from sheepstones. This descent has been flagged in the past.

Oh you're so cryptic but I am hoping that both are glasses full of wishy-washy ness and that therefore Wadworth will be as easy, maybe even easier (minus ice), than Hebden. (Hopeful)

Sounds like a fun day out !

You get horribly lost, spend 20 minutes trying to work out where you are on an OS map, have the embarassment of having to ask passing ramblers for help, realise you are a mile off-course and finish nearly last

Yes Andy, those maps are correct. Have just been getting them photocopied so that my marshals are standing in the right place.

And no beef dripping sandwiches I'm afraid. Just juice and biscuits after CP10, and a pile of soup and cakes and the finish. And if you bring your pocket money you can buy yourself a beer at the bar (open at the end of the race only ).

Just follow a Calder Valley vest they never get lost

I did a recce for my first attempt at this race and still managed to get lost heading for sheepstones (didn't even get to the airshaft). I slowed down when I saw a runner coming up behind me; his opening line was "do you know where we are mate, I'm completely lost!"

Guess what vest he was wearing?

The organisers note that parking is tight. What is the parking like? Is there parking at the cricket club, is there a car park or is it on street, is the parking on tarmac or grass? Thanks for any info anybody can give.
