    Re: Today's Training

Ran the Criffell hill race in Dumfries and Galloway, finished 15th I think, very very muddy on the course before we hit the snow about half way up then it was mud under the snow. Once we had raced itwe then got a quick drink and bit to eat before 3 of use ran it again as BG training, we were the second line of sweepers and we picked up any markers that had been left out. I had to feel for some of the Tinto runners that couldn't get to the race due to the roads in north Dumfries being blocked with snow.

    13 miles 3800ft of climb.

4.5mls recovery after yesterday's Wolf's Pit. What made me think a climb of 200mtrs straight up would be a good idea to put into a recovery run I shall never know! Winnie had fun but now needs a bath as she rolled in fox poo. Dirty little sod :-/

I am not so sure, I had to think hard about my fitness after going out with you lads the other week, you were all going so well considering you were on your second leg and I was fresh only doing the one.

On the Saturday I ran a 5.7 mile club trail race and won that before the hill race and BG training on Sunday, I maybe I have over done it a bit, as I am typing this with my heel on an ice pack due to a Achilles problem. I am planning on resting it until the weekend before I run again onit. We have a club road run tomorrow night but I will just help out with time keeping etc and not run.

14km in 1hour 12 this afternoon. First run from the new house, and first of a little challenge I've set myself... To climb Stanage edge 50 times in the first year. A climb is running to the edge or the pole fromreservoir or road level, by bike or on foot. Silly thing really, but might get me out for a run rather than making poor excuses! Would really like to beat 1 hour to Stanage and back from home, but it'll be tough!

Bit of a mixed day, so that 5 miler at 6 am, 2.6 miles back and to to football, 1.5 hrs of football, 2k back and to to the gym, 8k at the gym with 3 x 1 mile reps at 5:20 pace on the treadmill.. snow horrific.. then a sauna... still not used to german nakedness.. but lost 5 kilos in past few days.. 100 mile weeks.. its the new celeb diet..

    Tough session today

1 x hot chocolate and 4 x choco truffles at Cocoa Mountain followed by a quick fartlek session round an outdoor gear shop.

Then I went for a run, great fun. Just an hour blasting around in the snow through the trees. Made me smile it did.

Legs seem fresh and ready for what looks like a cracking week in the hills of Alicante.
