    Come on Andi.

    Calder Valley needs you and you need fell running.

    The new path is excellent - gets you running again and avoids the mudslide that the gill would become after any rain at all and - where I am in the race - hundreds of runners.

    First attempt for me and well pleased with 3:49. Painful cramps coming off Inglebugger and beyond so apologies to those around who had to watch me stop and stretch a ridiculous number of times...

    ... including the photographer who had plenty of chance to record my pain! Thanks for the 'encouraging' words and high five mate.

    First time here too, 3:56, very happy as was aiming for 4 hours. Funny that you see over 50% of the people fending off the cramp, even those who are reasonably fast!

    Never again.

    Until next year.

    didn't cover myself in glory today. my first DNF!
    knee seized up on the Whernside descent. up to then my plan was pretty much on track. a slow painful walk to the Hill Inn resulted in a timed out retirement - not that I was carrying on!

    on the plus side I really enjoyed the whole atmosphere of the event. the support was amazing and the organisation very slick. still need to cogitate on whether I like the route...

    big respect to the marshal at the top of Whernside. I think I could hear him at Ribblehead and he certainly dragged me up the last section.

    consoling myself with some beer. see here

    @BehindYou = I loved the cowbells!

    Cheers to the organisers and all the many many marshals! And congrats to Joe for smashing out that time so soon after Rotterdam!
    Well pleased with 3:25:40 despite minimal long running since Jan, and nice to win the U25s category, although the look on the face on the 2nd place lad as I passed him on the final climb to the summit of Inglebugger as he asked me if I was U25... sorry mate!
    Slowest I've ever moved downhill coming over Sulber mind, that was painful!

    well done all who ran!:thumbup:

    Hi Andy
    finished in 4:39 which was a PB by 3 minutes but 30 minutes outside my target time. please under the circumstances as the leg gave way going up whernside and it was a war of atrition from there onwards especially the last two miles when i knew i had to dig deep to get a PB. did you run today?
