Cracking race, varied terrain, great scenery and the marshall's were excellent, overall a really enjoyable one:thumbup: a 12th spot for me, so a good effort.

Doesn't seem too self-indulgent to me. At least you're not demanding flowers, breakfast in bed, endless cups tea, etc, etc that seem to be expected on Mothers' Day.

Not sure what you mean about the T-shirts? There was once a Settle Hills Race T-shirt printed about 10 years ago. Now a valued collector's item. You could have mine for £50 (Size L, slightly used) ;-).

However, other attractions that ARE on offer are:

- Hot showers
- Mini Olympics for the kids (starting at 11am)
- Bouncy castle
- Kids' treasure trail
- Cake stall

All in all a bumper fun day for everyone.

Sorry Boxers - think I was getting this race confused with another who were planning to print T-shirts, but as fate would have it I actually won a Salomon T-shirt as a spot prize! How weird is that?

Anyway, a really good turn out, nice route and a great atmosphere. Echo the thoughts re activities for younger children. My daughter isn't old enough to race so I would only take her along if I know there will be something she can do.

Also echo the thoughts re organization. Thanks to the Settle team who were out in force and in particular to the marshall who called me back when I went wrong. In a figure-of-eight course it is apparently important not to get to the midway cross-over point and go back down the bit you first came up... whoops.

Did anyone else find an unusual amount of grass after their post-race bath/shower? I had enough to feed a small goat left in the plughole.

First time at Settle Hills for me. I really enjoyed it. That's quite a descent!

A reminder that the Settle Hills Race is a bit earlier than normal this year - on 19th May because it's the Intercounty Fellrunning Championships.

There are junior races (U16 and U18) but these are pre-entry only and limited to county teams.

Senior race is entry on the day but county teams need to be pre-entered.

I am a county selector also and wanted to check about the senior men. It is 5 to run (not 4) and 3 to count?Also,are substitutions allowed on the day,as per last year?

It's 4 to run in Senior Men & Women.
You are allowed 5 so long as one is an U23.
3 to count.
Subs on day.
But entries are closed now, so I hope that you have them in!!
