    Don't get me wrong I would love Wiggo to win the race and break the field in the mountains and I hope Sir Dave is in top planning mood.

    I think you are right mate, on the day he crashed on the descent he had already been dropped on the climb which doesn't bode we'll for when they reach the high mountains this week. The official line is that he is stronger than he was for the Tour last year but that doesn't look the case at the moment.

    It will be interesting to see if he is strong enough to go on the attack in the mountains rather than just defend his lead as he could do last year

    Wiggo seemed to spend most of the stage off the back or hovering at the back of the peloton, rest day tomorrow then the first of the big summit finishes on Tuesday

    At first read I thought that said "hoovering". I started imagining Bradders with a headscarf & slippers on cleaning up the tarmac with a vac. A surprisingly convincing image...
