However as a better commentator than me has written: whereas the Giro has always been a proper bike race (and so its organisers have kept going broke) the Tour has always been first and foremost a business: and it suits ASO for foreign riders to win because of the television rights revenues a foreign winner brings.

As for my mate Contador: well he is the outstanding rider of this generation but like any winner he has to have the form at the right time and not fall off his bike.
Bob Dylan, Elvis, Contador are all your heroes druggies? :w00t:

Yeah, in the same way Lance was the outstanding rider of his generation.

    Never by me.

But then my livelihood didn't depend on colluding with the big lie.

So how about you listing "clean" riders from the British Isles who achieved continental success and never took anything in the last 100 years of pro-cycling?

It'll be a short list: Roche? No, Simpson? No, Kelly? No, Millar? No,...

Wiggins, Cavendish, Froome, as for it being a short list that could be because the list of riders having any continental success is short, clean or not

Boot on other foot, list the names of continentals who have achieved success and are clean???

Cycling is getting better but still far from clean just look at Giro this time.

Hopefully its being a leader to clean up its act.

I agree with some aspects but you can rest assured the frogs didn't set out the 2012 route for a British track cyclist to win.
You have far more faith in Christian Prudhomme than I do.

Lead group at the British Championships is Cavendish, Millar, Kennaugh and Stannard. Surely the 2 Sky lads will attack Cav, no point waiting for a sprint
