I know this is probably a silly question but with mudclaws hurting my feet on hard ground and it is likely to be dry most of the way round would Hoka one evo's be any good tomorrow on Wasdale (thinking about cushioning)

It would not be fair to let anyone see you in those shoes, its bad enough having leg ache without side shaking mirth.

Sounds like a good idea to me and if it rains you could do it in wellies

Seriously though just wear what you feel comfortable in, just make sure its not the first time you have tried to wear them running that distance/terrain etc. Made that mistake myself in the past wearing a different shoe for the first time in a race, blister tastic!

I will ignore alfs comment. I have just done a very short run tonight in them and was very impressed but Forrest you are right it would be a risk too far to wear them tomorrow so it will have to be mudclaws as they are the only fell shoes I have. I have got the evos for the Lakeland 50 so can give them a go next weekend instead.

    Re: Wasdale

Wow that was hard work - made the cut off at Great Gable by 2 minutes unfortunately - though I imagine they were rather generous - took me 6.39 - my longest race by far. Was very hot until Seatallan - cool breeze on and off after that helped a lot, as did drinks offered by complete strangers - and Joss of course at Greendale.
