Congratulations to anyone who finished - tremendous achievement

I deliberately took it slow on the first climb and also in the baking heat across the valley to Greendale, and set off up to Seatallan thinking that I would retire unless it got a bit cooler/breezier higher up, which it did, and I started to perk up and work a bit better, and was quite looking forward to pushing on up to Pillar, but arrived at Seatallan CP about 4 mins over cut-off and was timed out.

had a very pleasant jog back to the finish with a load of others that timed-out behind me, and at least I beat the bulk of the traffic out of the valley

I made it as far as Sty head, went ok up gable and descent was fine but legs just gave in as soon as I hit harder ground. Long walk back to wasdale head. That heat made everything hard work, my legs are totally battered even now, I got blisters on one heel for some reason, and one of my feet is very sore after booting a tree root or something in greendale. Respect to anyone who finished, I'd had enough by pillar but slogged on until I really couldn't go any further. I'll be back another year.

Not enough carbs on the way round Rob? Styhead to Broad Crag Col is rough in places but the gradient is steady at worst. I knew if I made it to Styhead I would finish, albeit slowly.

Anyone know what the winning time was?
We were climbing on Scafell (getting cold in the shade) and watched a few people running/walking down Lingmell in the late afternoon. I'd been wishing I'd entered until I got out the car at 8.30am and the heat hit me!
