    Re: Quiet Around Here

It's quiet now as I have the day off. Buts it's been busy beforehand this morning.

Car developed a rumbling noise similar to a worn wheel bearing. Phoned the main dealer yesterday who wanted £79 per hour and 4 days to get the car in.

Phoned the garage I used to take my old car to at 6.40am, by 8.15am I was back at home after the car had been checked over, costing the garage about an hour in labour time. Car test driven three times, been up on ramps for inspection. No fault found, sensible advice given and probable cause identified. Total cost zero quids. I even tried to pay, twice.

Good garage experience. Especially as I know eff all about cars. It's good to not have the sharp intake of breath and long list if faults experience.

 Everyone needs a good reliable garage!

We have a bloke down the road who works for himself (but rents some space in a garage). He's ace, and sometimes makes it difficult to pay him for his time, so god knows how he makes any money :w00t:

    Re: Quiet Around Here

I am having a bad footwear day.

After gluing one of my shoes to the front room carpet, I am now wearing alternative shoes (sandally type wedges) to work, which I now realise are completely unsuitable  My feet are burning and sore already.

Trouble is, I can't even take them off, because Baby OneHill has now made me so massive I have trouble reaching my feet and these shoes are tricky to do up and undo. I had help this morning, however I don't feel too comfortable asking my colleagues for assistance with removing and later replacing my footwear :w00t:

Oh how I am going to get through the day?! :boohoo:

Firstly: tell us how you managed to stick a shoe to the carpet?

Secondly: go ask a colleague FFS, you are about to pop, I am sure they don't mind... I for one would be very understanding!

P.S. I also have a good, reliable garage, worth their weight in gold! Especially as my car is old and has done over 100.000 miles...
