Is anybody going up and not running Borrowdale? If there is, can somebody accompany me on the fells for 60-90mins on the Saturday?

Have some how conspired to be committed to camping in Nether Wasdale on Friday and Saturday. Anyone ever been there? Not particulalry convenient for race or post race celebrations - I suppose I could always run over via Sty Head in teh morning. How long would that take?
On another topic altogether, my Mudroc 280s are beginning to come away between sole and upper. Do I try to track down new pair or risk it with the old ones?

It's one of the best campsites I've stayed on. A few rules, but that ensures it's clean and quiet. Not very convenient for Rosthwaite start though.
I hope be there camping/roughin it in the farmers field/race car park - weather permitting.

Nether Wasdale..Top Spot, Screes Pub Does good food and ale. The Strands has it's own brewery now, just don't be in a hurry for your food. Can recommend the chick Pea curry at the screes (Ideal pre race prep) Fri/Sat/Sun There's a festival on at the Bower House in Eskdale, loads of bands playing.
As for getting over to Borrowdale from Wasdale. At an easy(ish) plod it took 40min from wasdale head to Sty Head last weekend and I reckon another 20-30 min to Seathwaite. (I'm nee Joss Naylor)...Much respect if you do that and the race..H.D>

    Re: Borrowdale 07

Hello forum - first post here from me

I'm thinking of turning up for the Borrowdale on the day. I've got the route checkpoints marked on the map and can see all the obvious paths but is the route marked out in any way or is it a work it out yourself thing?

I'm not especially fast but tend to get round okay but can see myself running a solo race.
