None for me, as the right ankle & heel's playing up a bit (think it may be the start of 'P-F'?)

Didn't spot Richard Asquith taking photos, until I was well into the water, some of my club-mates look a bit shocked at re-entering the water (& the temperature of it)

    Crikey, what a turn-out again!!
That must be close to, if not a record?

A very gentle plod round last night, as 2 of our Radiography girls had turned up (they said they might), so I'd promised to guide them round, & make sure they were okay

They got round, & as far as I know(?) enjoyed it, with Pam finishing 260th, & Susie coming down 'hand in hand' with me to collect 277th

I've not seen either of them today, but if I get a punch on the nose tomorrow, I have my answer to what they thought of it

Numbers back down again last night (193 Senior finishers)

Was it the highly inclement weather of the day that reduced the numbers?, at least it rained before the race (circa 18:15 ish)

Heel still very painful, but I was round 12 minutes faster without having to escort my collegues round, but still a struggle on the descents

It must be improving, as I could actually walk this morning when I got up:closed:

Enjoyed Mondays race, but still suffering a bit.
I think the Plantar Fasciitis is going, but I'm certainly not race-fit, as evidenced by my appallingly slow starts/first mile

I saw a (usually slower) club-mate about 30 places ahead after the 1st river crossing, so chased a bit,& caught him by the 2nd.

Dropped him on the climb from crossing 3, but he had other ideas and just out-sprinted me for the line.

    Oh well!! maybe next time?

However, the real point of this to thank Andy & team for another evenings excellent racing.

    Thank you all!!

Hoping to make this one tonight.

Race 5 was my first ever attempt and really enjoyed it.

I wonder what the deluge of rain we've had over the weekend has done to the river crossings?

Slightly faster than Race 6, but still way off the pace! (can't shake the PF, & subsequent iffy Knee, due to compensating for it)

Thanks again to Andy & crew for organising/time-keeping/etc.......

Richard, I did spot you on the 'return' & thought I was smiling atyou in recognition, but the photos of me appear to disprove that

Knocked nearly a minute off my first attempt coming in at 32:59 this time. I quickly realised first time out that you need to get a bit nearer the front at the start otherwise you end up queuing for all the stiles/gates etc. So crept a bit further forward Monday and it paid off.

I'm still learning the course though and need to work out where I can find a bit more time.

Really enjoyed the photo's Richard, I look like a man possessed.

As you found out, go like buggery the first mile, to the Gate.

Then be prepared to try & pass people on the main hill.....attempting to recover on the 'steps'

Personally speaking, I'd aimed to drop my PB to 30:30 (or below, from 31:03) this season, but injury certainly put paid to that ambition, so I'm just going to be very happy for a '32' in race 8 or 9
