You did great Martyn, was nice to see you both again. You also had a good run Hes hope to see you again in some of the NYM series of races.
My third time at this event (50), my first DNF with sprained tendon, so looks like I have unfinished business with this one!
I always drink the flat coke at cp's as find it works a treat.

Be good to see you. Pretty sure I'll be back next year for the LL50 too. Flat coke is really good, I just need to learn not to gorge myself on it! Hope your ankle heals soon.

Yea ankle - well peroneal tendon which is what I strained is healing nicely at the moment, but got to stay sensible and not rush back as I can't afford to have a re-occuring injury as fitness is my job as well as my hobby...

I struggled with a peroneal tendon problem for a while, it can be nasty .... the good news is that it does respond to treatment. I used to ice it every morning and night, ibuprofen gel helps a lot too - particularly as the bulk of the tendon is just under the skin, the hard part to reach is where it goes under the retiniculum (the lateral sinew strap thingy on your ankle bone) and that's frequently where it gets inflamed. Ash, if you do get massage on this Helen says to remember to make sure it goes well up the calf on the peroneal longus and also around the insertion points in your feet. Apparently it's a "whole tendon" job. Hope it gets better soon!

Good article by Ben Abdelnoor regarding the race in mud sweat and tears:

Great win in a great time as well. Well done to him.

Thank you Martyn and Helen. Yea at present having full tendon gently massaged - pain was all along it when I stooped). Appears to be healing well so far, having another assessment on Monday.

Cheers but I was hoping to get one of the proper waterproof maps. Don't think the ones you buy of the lakes have the whole route on one map.
