There'll be quite a few of us doing it, me included. The route's unchanged as far as I know - it's been the same for years apart from the short section where the right of way was in dispute. I got sent my race number in late May, & the race details on 8 August, both by email. That said that the email address from which the details were sent wasn't monitored ([email protected]), & said you should contact Bill via the website contact page, which has [email protected]. Which did you use?

Im doing it but trotting around with the Mrs.....it was 40 miles for a 40th birthday present and thought it to be apt!! well at least i did anyway ;-)
Think I will be doing this next year. Done Bradwell, then Skiddaw and Bullock Smithy so not sure legs will take any more.

as for your entry- take proof cheque is cashed and turn up on day? I am sure they always do some entries on the day so it is not likely to be full

Should have a more detailed peak at the route at some stage I guess seeing as I paid me money. It looked a nice route from my first look though
It's fast, with a fair bit of (quiet) road & a lot of stony tracks. Probably not the best ultra to experiment with thin soles, unless you want a lot of people going past you as you ballerina your way from Beet Farm to Rushup Edge :w00t:Originally Posted by Willowisp

Thanks to the organisers and marshals for last weeks highpeak 40, its a great event with excellent organisation.
I had a bad fall halfway round which left me with bleeding knees & hands, all the marshals were great - making sure I was OK to continue and checking if I needed anything. All the other runners were also really supportive again making sure I was OK & asking if I needed anything. It's this kind of support that make these ultra events so good!
Discovered at the finish that my knees etc were the least of my worries as I'd actually broken my right forearm without realising! So no Round Rotherham for me!
That's what I call tough as nails; ran the HP40 with a broken arm and never realised? Shame you'll have to miss the Round Rotherham, BingleyAd.
Unusually for me I had a fall as well. I blame slightly higher speed than usual and a rock that jumped out at me (you known the ones). It was on that rocky descent before the final climb to the Rushup Edge checkpoint. Luckily my drinks bottles cushioned my landing before I ended up skidding down the rocks on my left shoulder blade. I came to rest upside down, waiting to see which way gravity would take me. I was expecting a full somersault but stopped just short.
