Apparently some people are not aware that Great Whernside and Whernside are two different hills in the Yorkshire Dales. Not surprisingly then there is some confusion about the Great Whernside Race being cancelled this year because the Whernside Race was cancelled in September.
The Great Whernside Race will take place on Saturday 26th October 2013, details as per the FRA fixture list. For the information of any Wharfedale Harriers, the race starts at 11.30am and not at 2pm as stated on your website.

Looking forward to this, it will be my first race back since injuring myself in the Welsh 1000m Peaks race last year. A year and a half not racing has been torture, I can't wait until Saturday!
One of my favourite races, it's the simplicity which appeals along with great organisation and a cracking route. Registration and parking in a farmers field, one of the toughest starts to any race you will find, a chance for the slower runners to see the leaders on the way back, man ( or woman ) eating bogs and a stream to wash in at the finish. Much recommended.
Its a great race to get your sharp studded Walshies out. Fast up and even faster down
Pity that both the campsite and the Kings Head have closed though.
Nevertheless, I'll be on the Golden Pippin in the Bluebell afterwards ~ hic!
