I was just listening to the highlights on the wireless. Michael Vaughan was laughing at the Aussie crowd for motivating Stuart Broad.

If I were a competitive sportsman, I would make a point of saying before every game "they're a great side, full of wonderful players".

Whoops! It's not over yet, Still put my money on England for this test. I reckon it will fire them up.

I was a bit surprised at the response of the media to Day 1 - Australia's score was not that bad. Not keen on the booing.

I'll put my house on an Aussie victory from here.

P.S. I liked your navigation article in the fellrunner mag.

Interesting (i.e. terrible for England) day's play.

If we could somehow get them out with a lead of less than 350 we might have a slim chance given the pitch is actually pretty decent for batting on. If they bat on well the draw's looking very unlikely.

If Australia don;t win from this position it will really hurt them. If England get a draw, Aus will be wondering how far ahead to they have to be to ever win over England. Losing here would have been bad to Australia, but not winning, even just a draw, from this position would arguably be worse.

The sound of clutching at straws is desperate, we are going down by an innings plus...

Media gloating after day 1 now looks very odd.
