I could understand not selling out when Fergie used the League cup as a youth training scheme but on Wednesday it was the last realistic chance of winning any thing this year, a strong team out, the tie was in the balance and City waiting in the final. Obviously not an attractive enough proposition for 10,000 or so of the regulars though
Still 71,000
4000 down
In reality it will be lower. United, like most teams, don't do actual attendance counts.. they do tickets sold... so season tickets, corporate buyers.. for a league game its rarely full, yet always gets a full attendance, because they still do sell almost every seat.
barmy army!
Fine we're on a charge...
I think part of it is you dont expect to be able to get tickets.. so you dont plan on going, so once people know tickets are available again it'll recover.
But United offered tickets to all secondary school kids for 5 quid for that game once they realised tickets were available.. nice touch.
At times we have to be more of a family club like City.. OK they took millions from a human rights abusing, corrupt politician... but he was just a loveable rogue...
Its crazy season time.. first perpetual moaner wenger that Chelsea selling a player for 37 million is on fair on their title rivals...
But then Martinez comes out with a cracker...
Stevenage (bottom of the 3rd tier of English football) V Everton (top 5 in the premiership).. Stevenage are favourites as they are at home... the home team is always favourites, even a lower league team against a team of internationals..
