Lovely pics Ian. I think you may be correct re wear and tear and age. I feel I too am in a losing battle, but I had to get out and enjoy the best weather of the weekend. Glad you liked the socks, expensive to buy but great to win some

Good to see you Karen, even if I couldn't keep up with you.

Somewhat ironically, I tore a calf muscle on Sunday morning walking around the house. Oh well .......

You either love it or adore it. Nice pictures once again. Karen, your socks need vacuuming.

    Mend well both of you.

Cracking race today over the muddy moors of Lancashire. Three decent climbs up Winter Hill then over to Darwen Tower and final climb up Great Hill. This maybe a LDWA event but it's a brilliant BL fell race cloaking in at 24.5miles with about 3500ft of climb.
Fellrunning legends Wendy and Yiannis both said they'd enjoyed it... enough said.

Nice to see you today albeit fleetingly and going the opposite direction!

Incidentally the walkers I'd just passed as I got to you on your way down had the audacity to proclaim that as runners we shouldn't be there and were carving up the fellside. I drew him one of my most menacing looks which only made him laugh and if he could have kept his dog under control meaning a fight wouldn't break out with 'fi fi' and Dave I'd have had a word!
They weren't LDWA amblers by the way!!
It was good to see the fell as busy as it was, and to accidentally bump into a few familiar faces and friends! it's usually just Dave and I on murky days up there and as far as I can see the fells are there for us all to enjoy not to be criticised or chastised for having fun as you Bimble by. Made me wish I'd entered these events are by far the best :-)

Hi Emma, I'm glad you realised I was in a race, I felt rude not stopping for a chat.

You're right about the walkers, they were a right moody bunch. Complete opposite of most walkers I've encountered.

Ps, Dave is a brilliant name for a dog.

Wish I'd remembered about this a bit earlier, already entered Windy Hill...I train a lot around Darwen Tower & Great Hill though, some good running in places, but, saying that, 20 odd miles is out of my reach at the minute anyway
