Speaking personally, and not on behalf of Halifax Harriers, I think it would be a great pity to lose the option for juniors to run leg 3 in the future. Perhaps some means of delivering parental consents in advance of the race might be considered in the future.
Echo that! Thanks for sorting it out so quickly folks.

We've got a pair coming to every leg....except leg 3....sorry, I wouldn't take it personally!

Great thanks. Might be worth them texting the relevant recce leader to let them know. As for me, I'm not mortally wounded....I just hope that your runners don't miss the crucial (but unmarked) turns along the way.

Can't make the Saturday, so will be trying to remember those unmarked turns this Sunday instead, when taking our Leg 3 newbies on a guided tour! Will be setting off from Sports Centre car park at 10.00 if anyone fancies tagging along!

Cool. If you've run it before, I'm sure there won't be a problem. We have a few go wrong every year though.

I'm copying this from the general threads.
"Anyone running leg 5 of the Calderdale Way Relay should be aware that there is a herd of cattle with a bull in the fields between Hunter Hill and Stod Fold. I'm told that he is fine when with his girlfriends but, I have to confess, I'm wary of running through there myself."

I spotted it on Sunday and was concerned. I've been chased by a bull before and they're fast!

Thankfully it didn't give me a second look.

Just ran round this morning. Didn't see the bull but the cows were a bit tetchy as they were with their calfs. Thankfully no incidents but they were slap-bang on the route.
