Haha, jesus reading back through this thread!

The trouble with avid mentalist football team supporters (not naming any names ) is that its not enough to support your own team (wearing a huge great pair of unwavereringly biased, blinkered and bigoted rose tinted spectacles) but you equally have to hate vehemently all of your rivals, with a handful of extra special rivals getting the vehemently vehement super hatred treatment.

It's true United and City are obsessed with one another, though go to great lengths to deny it. Danbo and Ian are the forum's personification of it.

Ermm.. I supported City over the last month.. City aren't our rivals.. We're an institution.. our rivals are likewise such a club, Liverpool..

City are a Chelsea, a Blackburn.. a team that has done well with money... but football rivalries are what football is about. Like the last game of the 11/12 season.

Anyway I also supported City in the Gillingham final in 99, you want the two big clubs in your city in the top league. Look at Sheffield, where both clubs play lower league football..

On a team built by someone else.. Moyes was getting 60-65 points most seasons for the past 5-10 years.. Martinez get 72.. a slight improvement.. but Rodgers took Liverpool from 7th to 2nd what a 25 point increase?

Rodgers is LMA manager of the year but Pulis is Premier League manager of the year, how does that work? Last time I looked Liverpool were in the Premier League

Mind you any organisation with Howard Wilkinson as chairman is likely to make an arse of things

I think Lambert will follow soon.. Moyes to Villa.. can't see him going to Spurs..

Its been 2 bad seasons for Lambert now.

re the rivalries.. Look at liverpool, Everton are closer to them in league position and geography.. but who do they banter with? We're the two giants of european football, along with Barca, Madrid, Bayern, Juve, AC Milan.. other teams like PSG come up now and again but they aren't institutions like the big clubs are... that's what kills Danbo..

In the past ten years Everton have averaged 57 points so it's a 15 point improvement.

Liverpool actually got 23 points more than last season not 25 and if you take the last ten years they've averaged 66 making it an 18 point improvement.

As I said before, Rodgers has done a great job but I would expect Liverpool long-term to be challenging. The amount they can spend on players and wages is so much more than Everton.

You have got to be kidding.... take an average of 10? with n = 1???

Right you can walk away.. have a think and come back with an intelligent remark.. :-)

Moyes took over Everton 10 years ago when they were perennial relegation candidates.. he took them to regular 5-7th spots.. with I think one 4th spots and regular low-mid 60's.. he's getting a harsh deal of people tbh..

Everton no chance... Lukaku will probably go, they have no money.. this season has been a bad one for United but there are now a top 5 with Liverpool, City, Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea.. all have many millions more than Everton and a history of success. United each week make millions more than Everton, and most, because we fill 70,000 seats..

Its why Arsenal had to go to the Emirates... so they now can compete.. but Everton have it even harder now than they did under Moyes, then you add Spurs..
