    Sorry we're leaving the car on the mainland and taking the bikes over. I did look into taking the car a few months ago and it was already booked up (or at least some of the crossings were)!

    *sighs*......its that time of year again. So want to do this again!! Next year maybe. Hope..NO!...EXPECT you all will have a great time!! Best race/event/weekend on the calander!

    Don't bother with the campsite at Lochranza (unless you really want a shower) , just go through the village past the ferry terminal, past the tea shop and on to the road down the west coast. (Before you get to Catacol village) after approx 1km there is an awesome grassy layby on the left, there is even a park bench. The Catacol (Inn) 1km further on serves great food and beer (Arran Blond) too.

    Also took a trip round the south of Arran last year - warning quite uninspiring after being up at the Lochranza end.

    I am getting the first boat from ardrossan with my bike on friday morning, hoping to arrive in jura around 3.30pm. Was planning on goin home sunday, but could camp in arran if its nice. Anyone else up for sharing the petrol from west yorks/lancs/greater manchester area.

    Also remember you can shower on the ferry. I'd love to be doing it, just getting there by bike and ferry is a brilliant outing!
