I never thought the day would come but me, a life-long Genetic Socialist - my grandmother was involved with the unions before the war, it skipped a generation with my mum, who used to admire Jean Rook, a writer for the Express when it was a broadsheet but has burned in me for as long as I have been conscious, I have no interest in politics. We had a load of leaflets through our door, but I barely registered who'd sent them. I'm much more interested in nature, philosphy and politics now. Mum told a great story about a woman complaining at the bakers the day after a general election that the price of bread was still the same - does it really make any difference who's in charge? Really? It's like who's won the Premier League if you don't support a club in the competion
