I've given up on the channel 'Movie Mix'. It's garbage, just one Van Damme cheese fest after another.

Northern Soul, really good, not seen one like it since Brassed Off.

It was all the more enjoyable for me being a northerner. The chat-up scene in the kitchen at the afterparty is especially well acted and directed.

    Beasts Of The Southern Wild
    thought it was excellent
astonishing acting from the young girl
original, thought-provoking, enjoyed the soundtrack too which always helps

(oh and I saw the first Hobbit film as well recently - my review: "It was too long.")

Pacific Rim - Found it boring. If Guillermo del Toro hadn't directed it the critics would be a bit more honest about this picture. The two nerdy scientists and a cameo from Ron Perlman were all that kept me interested.

    It's not about space, right?
I'm emotionally exhausted from it. 3 hours and no mercy!!

So, its more like Dr Zhivago. An epic examination of the survival of love and human spirit through insurmountable odds and over time.

Just 'got' what McConaughy is...He is the 21st century equivalent of Jimmy Stewart.

    Jimmy Stewart
    Who?

Wasn't he a football pundit with a big chin?
