Thread: Pennine Bridleway Relay

    Re: Pennine Bridleway Relay

Reccied it on Sunday with 10 other Rossendale harriers. Think I'm going to be careful on the cobbly descents- did not feel confident in Swoops. Got a pair of walshes but haven't worn them in yet.
Anyone else see the sign for the lost palomino pony? I don't fancy it's chances without many teeth...

    Cheers, Ali.

Myself and Widdy did our recce of leg 3 this morning Ali (thanks to Gaz and Steve for helping to escort us round.)

I enjoyed the run immensely, and agree with you that it is runnable, with the exception for me being the sting in the tail at the end of the leg. The majority of the climbing must be in that short section at the end of the run musn't it?

Ominously as i was slowly mutating into a gibbering, gasping, hands on knees wreck,a posse of Radcliffe including; Wirey Manc, Moo and Mr and Mrs CrumblyDown came flying up the hill with far too much energy for my liking

No worries mate, nice to meet you. Nice to meet the posse from radcliffe, recognised a few people from the forum but didn't introduce myself.

Good run this am with every bit of weather thrown in for good measure. Hopefully you and Widdy should meet your predicted time for leg 3, a good runable route with a bit of everything

    with regards

Nice to meet you too Gaz and Danbert! We continued on and did leg 4 as well although it was possibly a "leg too far" for me, not been keeping my long runs up and that last mile of bog next to watergrove was not particulalry pleasant!! Glad I'm not doing that leg! (although it's probably a better option than leg 2!)

Weather was interesting to say the least, four seasons in one day..

Good running this morning with Danbert plus Gaz and Steve from CVFR. Cobbles were a bit of a nightmare particularly in the driving sleet and snow. Nice to meet a few forumites, nice to have a chat Moo and your friend and thanks to the guy with the Jellybabies. Didn't catch the name. Oh, and I did a gear test on my new Mizuno Wave Harriers this morning and they came through with flying colours. Anyone who is a litle unsure what to wear on this leg in my opinion its got to be trail shoes, I would not have fancied the decents in my Walshes. Good luck everyone, see you at the changeovers!

Widdy, don't say they fitted like 'slippers' as I am sure Danbert would have something to say!
