There has not been much serious research into fell running. Whilst writing my latest book I have been digging deep down many avenues for potential sources. One of these has been of academic publications. I have blogged [warning – it is quite a long ramble – a description that has been applied to the Bob Graham Round!] on two unpublished MSc submissions and one journal paper that I recently consulted. Some of it is good and interesting, and much of it rather shaky in my opinion. I leave you to decide.

Great post, very interesting. I agree with you about some of its shakiness!

A VERY long overdue update from me - all (ok, most) of last year's races and ramblings:

i must stop being so precious about achieving 'the perfect write-up'! I mainly keep my blog as something to show/inspire my sons when they're older; the challenge comes in reporting on races i've done multiple times.
