While I'd agree healthy body shapes should be shown in the media, I often wonder whether what is viewed as a 'normal' 'healthy' body shape (by the majority of the population), is just the result of a sedate lifestyle and poor diet choices. For example my Mum eats healthily, and exercises a lot, and she is nowhere near as fat as many girls my age!!! Surely the real healthy body shape is neither the type shown above or the size zero, but the one which an active (though maybe not obsessive athlete) maintains - infact I think that applies for men as well as women, many people comment that I'm too thin, yet I eat normally, exercise as much as I can sustain, but don't starve myself!! Not drinking heavily and frequently might have something to do with it!!
Some of the ladies at work (all fat) were discussing their diets and were saying they felt they ate to much, and needed to cut down their intake. I had to be very careful not to tell them that maybe just having the same intake, with healthier foods, and getting more exercise might do the trick. Meanwhile the gorgeous HR girl said she just eats as much as she feels like, but because she works out at the gym and walks a lot it has not impact!!
