Credit to the guy for shouting out every number - maybe that was even more difficult than the run across the never-ending swamp after Ox Stones. I had my head down for so much of the race I didn't realise it was so foggy!

Has the route changed again or was it just bad conditions?

It was the normal route. Very cold, wet & windy and a bit of mist but good visibility generally

    Looks like it! :-)

Totley AC already ramping up big time for this years event.

    Details here.

Main change this year is a slight change to avoid the busy Hathersage Road section.

Best of luck, and fun, to all(wasn't last years run in the monsoon a total blast!).

It's a number of years since I did this race, always prefered the route out to Stanage Edge, and I wonder if someone could help me out please. Hoping to get there and take photos but I can't remember what happens at each checkpoint. Do you call out your number at every CP or ... ? Surely it would be too crowded to shout them out and someone record them at the first few.
As you are running towards Ox Stones, does the track pass on the left of the stones or the right OR do people do either?
What's the main route that people take from CP3 to CP4?

I'm trying to work out the best spot for photos. Whether to go to CP2 and then run to CP10 and work through the route backwards as people come through or to choose one spot such as Higger or Carl Wark.

If you're running from Ox stones to Burbage Valley you'll pass the Ox Stones with them on the runner's right.

From Ch 3 to Ch4 I think the best route is hand railing the forest for ~70m then bearing North to reach a small sapling tree which leads you onto the track between Burbage West and Higgar.

The top of Higgar is always a safe bet and I'd have thought you'd be able to get back to check Ch 1/11 in time for the first runners coming back through.

Hopefully that is some help :-/

...and a big well done to Totley A.C. race organisers, helpers and marshalls The kit checking of ALL competitors at the beginning and the end and the start and end number checking was excellent for a field of nearly 400 runners. Results out by the next day as well!

Thanks for organising the good weather too
