Roclites - I did try Mizuno Wave Harriers once but I suspect their wider forefoot increases the risk of tripping - otherwise they were fine.

Presumably you do your secret Park Runs in Trail Shoes?
Depends on what weather we have between now and the race, also the weather on the day for me funnily enough!
In previous years the wettest parts of the course where stretches of the long run between Penyghent and Ribblehead, and also just after you've crossed the river at the foot of Whernside, those first few hundred metres are often wet 'n boggy. Be interested to see what its like there after this dry week.
Pen y Ghent to Ribblehead (following the race route anyway) has been 'civilised' by the national park authority for the benefit of the gazillions of 3 peaks walkers so that bit of the race track isn't really very boggy nowadays. The dip after Ribblehead at the bottom of the climb up Whernside is always wet and spongey as is much of the climb but, unless its wet on the day, or there's a prolonged period of rain before hand, I doubt that it'll be too tricky. Funnily enough its the 5 mile drag into Horton after Ingleborough that can provide much of the tricky ground, mud and puddles and even that can dry out quite quickly.
I'm on a run the 3 peaks each month thing this year and, as I'm fellsmanning on the day of the race and running elsewhere this weekend, it looks like I'll be going round the Saturday a week before the race. I'll update with ground conditions following that![]()
