What a difference in 24 hrs!

Yesterday a few of us had a run(swim) around the cancelled Whinberry Naze course and it was a real eye opener....the power of Mother Nature is incredible.

Today up in Lakeland (which has had a terrible few weeks) it's gorgeous. The sky is clear, there's no wind and it's vest weather...very strange indeed.

Even though it's by far the mildest Wansfell race I've done, climate wise, it was still up there with the snowy ones for slip-sliding descending. The fell was sodden and keeping upright was a real challenge, in fact it was almost impossible...bum slides aplenty.

Before we reach the fell, we've the short road section to contend with first....blimey all them Christmas goodies made this harder than it should've been. I honestly thought I was gonna collapse at the cattle grid, note to self- don't be such a greedy sod next year!

Some great performances by some of the younger runners today but the master that is Rob Jebb came out on top...crikey, he can climb!

Thanks to all involved at Ambleside and fingers crossed that the weather starts to give you guys a break.
