We're hoping to get a few entries from our (walking) club.
The 'more info' page mentions a 15 mile run or a 15/23 mile walk. But the entry form lists a 23 mile run. Presumably the entry form is correct?!

    Hi Toreador,

You are welcome to run the the 23 miler as a 'runner' but it is a challenge rather than a race, The official race is the 15 miler. Last year a only a handfull ran the longer route which was mostly taken up by walkers.

    Any thoughts PB?

We're very much non-competitive runners anyway so it's academic! I'd rather run the longer route as it makes for a longer day, than run the shorter route just for the privilege of being officially placed near the bottom of the field

    Grin 'n' Bear It 2007

    Just planning my autumn calendar...

I fancy doing this local race in a few weeks time. However, I see on the entry form that there appears to be an option for a 15mile and a 23mile fell run. But all the information seems to be promoting it as a 15mile fell run.

Does anyone know if there is indeed a 23mile alternative route?

Ah....just heard - the race IS the 15mile route.

There is a 23mile route that is primarily for walkers but if anyone wants to run it this longer way then their times would be officially recorded.

Just an up date, more info below. Prizes will be awarded via lottery so all you runners and walkers who never get a chance of winning any thing will be in with a good shout.

    http://www.woodheadmrt.org/home.htm

Running route is from Langsett Barn through woods bridge then to top of Cutgate, turn right to Outer Edge Trig (The Bogmonster is asleep at the moment )
then on along Howden edge for just under 3 miles until you can turn right on path over RoundHill to Lady Cross, R again to road crossing and (Water and Choccy biscuits stop, check befor start though. ) Down Woodland Clough and turn R on Windle Edge for a short road section to the Trans Pennine Trail, If you have any thing left now's the time to push with a fast section to Cote Bank Bridge, over this and follow track south until you get to Langsett Woods and back to finish.

It's expected to be faster this year as the fells are a lot dryer.

Last years results are also up and this years will be up much quicker!

Loads of food at the finish so get your self down there.

If any one fancies a run round I'll be up for it...

A number of entries have already been taken.
Please push this on you club sites

Looks like an excellent route, Ian, but it's already a very busy weekend what with Langdale, Gt. Whernside & the Hodgson Relays. Maybe next year.

Hope you make loads of cash for a good cause.
