The hobble is the first race in the Inaugural Tod Harriers Ultra championships so expect a few Toddies to be around. I might walk up to whirlaw rocks (with the little lad on my back) to cheer and jeer at you all coming past. Say hi if you see me.

Whereabouts in the route is Whirlaw Rocks, Dan? The name doesn't ring a bell with me, not being a local.

I think Nick, it's the section on the Calderdale way just before you get to Todmorden golf club; a bit of a lumpy, rocky, tracky section with some slippy cobbles thrown in in places.
Think halfway between hotdogs and whisky n donuts and you're not far off!

I'm with you, alfa_scud. :-) I can picture it well. That also happens to be part of the current Calderdale Hike route - an even longer suffer-fest than Haworth Hobble.

Don't want to get any hopes up, but it looks dry and warmish...

    Hi nick,

see attached map of Bridestone race which shows where the rocks are, the route goes just below them and I live approx half a mile below.

Travelling up tomorrow evening on the train.

Will be my longest race by a number of miles, however I have been training hard in preparation for this and for other races.

Dreaming of under 6 hours, would be satisfied with 6.5

    Good luck to everyone.

Similar to you Travs. Heading up tomorrow with Mrs C and looking forward to pre-race food & ale at the Fleece Inn. Not done this one before....but something under 6.5 would be nice.
