But all a part of The Great Game.

So T and N agree to never agree; article 50 can't be triggered; alternative way sought; EU scared of others leaving so agrees to better T and C. A possibility?

Nicola Sturgeon is wrong, and twisting facts to suit her anti-English agenda.

Scotland didn't vote to stay in the EU. Scotland didn't have a referendum on leaving the EU, the UK had a referendum - the UK that Scotland voted to remain a part of in 2014, knowing that there would likely be an EU referendum. As a result of the UK referendum we're off, taking Scotland with us.

    Consequences.

I have family who are long term residents in Spain. There was a General Election a few days after the Referendum. The Brexit vote was a bombshell in Spain. The People's Party was expected to lose seats to the minority/break away/lunatic parties but instead the populace, having seen Brexit, voted conservatively and the PP gained seats. A totally unexpected and sensational result for the ruling party.

The leader of the PP (Mariano Rajoy) has stated in no uncertain terms that Scotland will not be allowed in any circumstances to be an independent member of the EU. Not because he cares a fig about Scotland but because if Scotland did it would give succor to Catalans, Basques & their equivalent who seek independence all over Europe.

Politics is politics but European Prime Ministers will look in their own backyard before they worry about Scotland.
