    It certainly takes the EU a long time to negotiate trade deals as it has to satisfy the interests of 28 different members, interests that can often be contradictory. Indeed the EU has no trade deal in place with any top ten economy. Australia by contrast has deals with USA, China and Japan.

    Without this handicap Britain should be able to negotiate deals much more quickly. In fact countries around the world already seem very keen to do deals with Britain.
