Nightmare 5 hour journey from Cov up to the Lakes on Friday, followed by a quick jaunt up Wansfell to loosen up.

Saturday race in absolutely foul conditions, followed by Cumberland Sausage, Chips, and Steak & Ale Pie from the chippy, and watched Juventus vs AC Milan before an early night.

Today a quick journey back, hour in the gym to stretch out after the race, and look after my nephew.

Tomorrow another gym session and a haircut, back to work Tuesday.

The bike leg of a tri relay today (18 miles) first ride in about three years it was interesting, I did enjoy it, fair play to those tri folk, had a jog out to cheer my lass on the run leg, my legs were ruined I’d never have managed the whole thing

Cracking day yesterday. Cut the lawn for the first time. Garden is looking tidy.

Lovely side of the Lake District. I'm stopping in a cottage in Ennerdale Village for the weekend of the fell race. So quiet compared to the 'main' parts such as Ambleside and Keswick (which are still lovely all the same).

Couldn't cut the lawn. It was occupied.

Shhh don’t tell anyone my Mum was born in Kirkland and learnt to swim in Ennerdale, the Lake is where she now rests a truly beautiful part of the country, although Mrs DTR wasn’t too impressed with the scramble around the bottom of Anglers crag last time we took the dog around the lake

I struggled around Anglers Crag last year at the end of a long run which began on the high moorland road to the west of Lank Rigg, ending up descending the NW ridge of Pillar (including a very troublesome section through the trees in Ennerdale Forest to get onto the forestry path, and back along the lake shore. All things considered, I may well have been better off taking the better path on the north shore, despite the additional distance!

You probably would the guidebooks do the rate the lake walk as easy but I seem to recall a walker fatality on Anglers Crag only a few years back so perhaps not as easy as it seems, I do believe that the lake bed is littered with hotel crockery from the Anglers hotel which the guys demolishing skimmed across the lake and can remember my Granda in the seventies horsing off through the bushes on the North Shore and coming back with antique bottles from various old tips around the lake shore. Great Memories

Don't know if you've ever visited Duddon Dale Travs, but I've become smitten with it over the last few years. Really quiet compared to many areas of the Lakes (even compared to Eskdale), but a real gem, with masses of running routes.
