Of course, the Labour party only promotes a nice, furry, diverse and inclusive type of hate. Remove the blinkers and see all the light.
Visibility good except in Hill Fog

So are most flats leasehold in the UK. Singapore government owns most of the land, and most of the property is sold leasehold 99 years. Very little property and almost no government property is available to rent.

We call "leasehold" ownership in the UK.

One of the oddities of singapore is government control over sale of lease, so how it gives the government power to "social engineer". It ensures culture and race mix in all neighbourhoods by restricting too many sales to one group. I am ambivalent.

State control of land and social engineering. I think there are some on the left of the labour party who would agree with this.

We are coming from a very different place. The only way the state could now own substantial portions of land here is expropriation : the usual socialist catastrophic policy , which guarantees pariah states, which is exactly as Mcdonnell has stated he intends with companies, which is already driving them away, and leading to capital outflows. Whatever oddity there may be in singapore land ownership: the success of singapore is built on supporting business and ambition not whole sale marxist destruction of them.

I cannot believe anyone falls for marxism / autocratic socialism now, but they do. Just as they fell for the creation of (yet another) inevitable failure of currency union with the euro. I have every sympathy for those with nothing, to whom the promise of more, and change, is an island of hope in a sea of despair, even though it is anillusion. I have no sympathy at all with the useful idiots supporting it amongst educated and champagne socialists classes. Corbyn has neither provenance nor shred of verifiable method. He has the entire litany of provable policy failures. All he has is a credit card, a hatred of the west and capitalism and a method to intimidate dissenters. It cannot end well.

A good friend of mine who some of you on here will know, but I won't name him, is from the wide left, a communist who sees himself also as Labour.
I don't get it, but he calls it a movement and hence why it is easier I suppose for all the diverse factions on the left to sit under the umbrella of the Labour Movement.

I've been astounded at times at the level of hate aimed towards the Tories, or people at what you might call the extreme right, which he would view as Tories
I view as BNP, NF, and the current UKIP.

It really is a hatred. He would happily dance on Thatcher's grave.

I have another friend, who's mostly from the fell running, and he also hates Tories with a vengeance. He's not a communist, but certainly left of centre and what I would call an extreme Remainer.

That hatred doesn't just get aimed at the Tories. It gets aimed at the centrists within their ranks, who are seemingly ill at ease with the programme.

It is something I don't see on the right, not until you get to the complete knuckle scratchers.

I have no hatred for Corbyn, I have reservations about him. I think McDonnell has a sinister element to him. I think it would be harmful to the country to have people like these in charge.

But hatred? No, I can't get that. I don't understand it and I think the left have to try and de-angst themselves if they are to be a force in UK politics going forward.

A revolution without firing squads is meaningless.

But seriously, yes I agree WP. When labour have won power in the past they have done it by appealing to moderate people. All this "we need to oust our hated enemies: the tories" doesn't help their cause at all.

Tory Party is a broad church. Some are borderline Lib Dems, some others not so much.

I see the Guardian is pushing the UKIP membership being boosted by a lurch to the right. Along with some alleged anti semitic stuff from the UKIP youth wing.

Whilst lazily mooching around for a non Grauniad article (which I didn’t find) I found this https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/824767...ller-beheaded/

Charming. Even when accounting for the tabloid element. Missed that at the time.

I’ll not post anything bad about Labour. Oracle seems to have enough Lefty Labour bashing energy to amply cover that!

People old and young are sick and tired of the same old middle of the road politicians. Do NOWT and blame everyone.

That's why USA got Trump and main countrys in Europe are seeing extremist parties do well.

We follow the rest so don't be surprised when a shock happens.

Right enough there’s Stags, can’t say as I’m surprised, it’s been a long time coming. Although whether it actually improves anything for anyone beyond those with the means to take advantage of the shifts is another matter. Not least as we’re still as frequently looking to lay blame.
